Tobacco is such an addiction that once you get addicted to it, it is not easily left and it is a bad habit. Continuous consumption of tobacco causes the risk of oral cancer, due to which 8 out of 10 people die. To avoid a bad habit like tobacco, an anti-tobacco oath ceremony was organized on World No Tobacco Day in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Which has also been recorded in the Golden Book of World Records.
On 23 May 2025, an anti-tobacco oath ceremony was organized in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, with the joint efforts of Global Welfare Smile Foundation and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, in which the oath of prohibition of tobacco was taken in every home and every office. In which a record number of people were sworn in at different places. Which was registered in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Most People Pledged To No Tobacco” in the name of Global Welfare Smile Foundation and Denesia. Many government and private organizations cooperated in making this campaign successful. Which was led by Dr. Poja Tripathi (President, Global Welfare Smile Foundation).
Mr. Rajendra Shukla (Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister of Madhya Pradesh) and Mrs. Malti Rai (Mayor of Bhopal) joined this historic ceremony organized on the day of World No Tobacco Day along with their councilors. On this occasion, organizations like National Health Mission and Tobacco Control Program of the state made a special contribution. In the program, Mr. Kaushalendra Vikram Singh (Collector, Bhopal), Mr. Harendra Narayan Singh (Municipal Corporation Commissioner), Dr. Goverdhan Das (IISER Direct), Mr. Swapnesh Sharma (Project Officer), Mr. Ram Tiwari, Mr. Harsh Mittal attended and also congratulated him for the world record.
