Celebrating the divine birth of Lord Krishna with devotion and grandeur, ISKCON Raipur has created a remarkable world record. On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, 10,000 kilograms of samak rice (barnyard millet) khichdi was prepared, making the event historic.
This massive prasadam preparation was carried out under the spiritual guidance of _Bhakti Siddharth Swamiji_. The entire world record process was coordinated by Shri Tamal Krishna Dasji, who explained that under the inspiration of Bhakti Siddharth Swamiji, ISKCON saints, brahmacharis, committee members, and hundreds of volunteers collectively came together to successfully accomplish this grand offering.
Samak rice, especially consumed during fasting in Chhattisgarh, was chosen for the khichdi preparation, which not only honored the tradition but also conveyed a message of health and sattvic living.
During the event, Dr. Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head of the Golden Book of World Records, along with Mrs. Sonal Sharma and the GBWR team were present during the entire event. The team closely inspected the preparation process right from the morning till late evening. GBWR team officially declared the World Record for the “Largest Preparation of Samak Rice Khichdi” in the night. On this occasion, Bhakti Siddharth Swamiji, head of ISKCON Raipur, was honored with a Provisional Certificate and Medal, officially confirming the world record.
The entire day was filled with devotional fervor. Devotees immersed themselves in sankirtan, cultural performances, and the joyous celebration of Krishna’s birth. The massive 10,000 kg khichdi was offered to Lord Krishna and distributed throughout the day as prasadam among thousands of devotees, embodying Lord Krishna’s eternal message of compassion, love, and service.
On the occasion, Bhakti Siddharth Swamiji remarked, “This 10,000 kg samak rice khichdi is not just a record, but an expression of our devotion. Preparing food with love, offering it to Lord Krishna, and then sharing it with His children is the true essence of Janmashtami.”
With this extraordinary effort and the official recognition by GBWR, ISKCON Raipur has transformed the Janmashtami celebration into a historic chapter—where spirituality, tradition, service, and global pride came together beautifully.
Throughout the day, thousands of devotees and dignitaries, including Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, the Mayor of Raipur, and many others, visited the temple for darshan of the Lord Krishna. The organizing committee members, including Shri Rajesh Agrawal and Shubham Singhal, expressed immense joy over the creation of this world record and the successful completion of this divine and grand event.
