Bharatnatyam is a major classical dance of India. Which originated in Tamil Nadu. This dance is made by combining the elements of Bhaav, Raga and Tal. It is believed to be based on Bharat Muni’s Natyashastra. Bharatnatyam is a difficult classical dance, which takes years of hard work to learn. Demonstrating these years of hard work, Ms. Remona Evette Pereira of Mangalore has created a world record for performing Bharatnatyam for the longest time. Which has been recorded in the Golden Book of World Records.
Ms. Remona Evette Pereira of Mangalore, Karnataka, a student of Aloysius (Deemed to be University) has created a world record of performing Bharatnatyam continuously for 170 hours from 21 to 28 July 2025. Which has been registered in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Longest Performance of Bharatnatyam Dance” in the name of Ramona Evette Pereira. Ramona performed Bharatnatyam taking only a 15-minute break every three hours. Ramona received Bharatnatyam training from Guru Dr. Shrividya Murlidhar. After the program, Dr. Manish Vishnoei (Asia Head, GBWR) of Golden Book of World Records presented the certificate of record to Ramona Evet Pereira.
Mr. Praveen Martis (VC St. Aloysius, Deemed to be University) and others present congratulated and wished Remona for her performance.
