Bastar is a beautiful signature of thousands of years old primitive civilization and culture. The tribals here are not only worshipers of nature but also protectors of their motherland. Through Bastar Pandum 2025, along with preserving the ancient cultural heritage of Bastar, there is an effort to show the unique beauty of Bastar to the country and the world. As per the instructions of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai ji, divisional, district and block level competitions were organized with the aim of preserving the original form of local art, culture and traditions under Bastar division and sustainable development of art groups and encouraging and honoring tribal artists. In this, competitions were organized in seven disciplines – tribal dance, tribal drama, tribal song, display of tribal musical instruments, display of tribal costumes and jewelry, display of tribal crafts and paintings, display of tribal beverages and cuisine. It was organized at three levels – Block level (10-19 March), District level (21-23 March), Division level (2-5 April). Division level competitions were organized in Dantewada. 49 participating groups participated in it, in which seven participating groups of each discipline participated.
Bastar Pandum 2025 was organized during the Art, Culture and Tradition Festival from 12 March to 5 April in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. In which a record number of about 27000 tribal people participated and displayed their art, culture and tradition. Which was registered in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Tribal Cultural Fest” in the name of ‘Department of Culture, Chhattisgarh’. At the conclusion of the program, Asia Head of Golden Book of World Records Dr. Manish Vishnoei presented the certificate to Mr. Anbalgan P. (secretary Department of culture, Chhattisgarh).
This 25-day long program Bastar Pandum 2025 was attended by Union Home Minister of India Honorable Mr. Amit Shah, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Honorable Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Honorable Mr. Vijay Sharma, Honorable Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Honorable Minister Mr. Ramvichar Netam, MP from Bastar Mr. Mahesh Kashyap, MLA from Dantewada Mr. Chaitram Atami, District Panchayat President of Dantewada Mr. Aman Mr. Nandlal Munami (CDC Dantevada) along with many public representatives and encouraged the local artists.
