Anemia screening, also known as CBC or hemoglobin test. It is done to get information about the amount of hemoglobin. Lack of hemoglobin is not a disease, but its deficiency causes weakness in the body. Due to which it should be tested at intervals of some time. Keeping this in mind, thousands of women’s hemoglobin was tested in a single day in Chhattisgarh’s Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Which has been recorded in the Golden Book of World Records.
On 26 June 2025, an anemia screening camp was organized for women in different places of the district under the ‘Rakt Shakti Abhiyan’ in Chhattisgarh’s tribal-dominated district Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. In which a world record was created by checking the haemoglobin of 51727 women in the age group of 13 to 45 years in the district. Which has been registered in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Anemia Screening Campaign for Women” in the name of the district administration. This camp has been directed by District Collector Ms. Leena Kamlesh Mandavi with the cooperation of the Women and Child Department and the Health Department. Ms. Sonal Rajesh Sharma (Chhattisgarh Head, GBWR) of the Golden Book of World Records was present in the program and announced the record. After which she presented the certificate of record to the District Collector.
On this occasion, Additional Collector Ms. Namrata Anand Dongre, Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat Mr. Surendra Prasad Vaidya, Joint Collector Mr. Dileram Dahire, SDM Pendra Road Ms. Richa Chandrakar and SDM Marwahi Mr. Prafulla Rajak, Ms. Seema David, District, Subdivision and Block level officers of various departments were present. Collector Ms. Mandavi said – HB is not a disease. It can be cured by diet and awareness. For which the test data is being analyzed. A separate scheme will be made for those whose hemoglobin is less than 7 grams. Collector Ms. Mandavi said that this is a work inspired by ‘Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao’ and ‘Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’.
