On June 21, on the occasion of World Yoga Day, about 21 thousand people, including children, youth, elderly, and women, performed mass yoga exercises in the state-level yoga program organized at Jora Maidan in Raipur and gave the message of courtyard yoga in every home. The program started with the lighting of the lamp by the guests and the national song. In the program, State Congress Committee President and senior MLA Mr. Mohan Markam congratulated everyone on Yoga Day and said that every person should do yoga to stay healthy and fit. Yoga is our ancient science. On the direction of the State Government, the Yoga Commission is doing good work in this direction. Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mr. Gyanesh Sharma said that yoga frees us from many diseases and makes the body healthy. The Yoga Commission is continuously working under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. An atmosphere of yoga has been created in Chhattisgarh. People have become more aware than before and are doing yoga. People are moving towards a healthy routine. Today people in every class are doing yoga. He called upon to adopt yoga for a healthy lifestyle and publicize the importance of yoga to the masses.
MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma said that by practicing yoga daily, we will remain healthy, there will be no disease, and there will be no extra expenditure. The efforts being made by the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission under the leadership of Mr. Gyanesh Sharma, Chairman, is the result of the efforts being made by the Commission that people have become aware of Yoga. Yoga has become a part of people’s life. There is a radical change in the lifestyle of the people. Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vikas Upadhyay said that regular yoga is very important to stay healthy. Yoga enhances our physical and mental abilities. Yoga Commission is working to develop yoga consciousness among the people, today more than 40 yoga centers have been opened in the state because this is the need of the day. Yoga played an important role as the life savior of the people in the gruesome Corona period.
On this occasion, Yoga instructor Shri Chhabiram Sahu gave training in various methods of Yoga. He told that yoga is a symbol of harmony of body, mind, and nature. Yoga is a combination of Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi. In yoga philosophy, it is also called Ashtanga Yoga. Through the external means of yoga, Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, and Pratyahara, one gets freedom from mental and physical diseases, and the mind becomes calm. Yoga is useful in increasing the physical energy level, balancing the mind and emotions. By meditating on God and practicing yoga with full attention, a person is interviewed with infinite energies.
The state-level yoga program was attended by guests as well as a large number of people who practiced various asanas such as padmasana, tadasana, halasana, ardhachakrasana, and various pranayamas such as anulom-vilom, kapalbhati, bhastrika.
