Where trees and plants help in making the environment clean, forests are decreasing rapidly. In such a situation, Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh started an initiative under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 Abhiyan” giving a new direction to environmental protection. Under which the district administration made a record of planting more than one lakh fruit-bearing plants in the residential complex of 50 thousand beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Through this campaign, not only an effort has been made to increase greenery but respect has also been expressed towards motherhood. This initiative has been recorded in the Golden Book of World Records.On July 5, 2025, a world record of planting more than 1 lakh fruit-bearing plants in the residential complex of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana of Mungeli, Chhattisgarh has been set. Which has been registered in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Fruit Tree Saplings Plantation Initiative” in the name of District Administration Mungeli. This initiative has been directed by District Collector Mr. Nandan Kumar. The team of Golden Book of World Records was present in the program and Ms. Sonal Rajesh Sharma (Chhattisgarh Head, GBWR) presented the certificate of record and congratulated and wished.
Mr. Arun Sao (Deputy CM, Chhattisgarh) was present as the chief guest in the district level program of this campaign. The Deputy Chief Minister congratulated the record and gave the message of water and environmental conservation by planting trees. During this, Mr. Punnulal Mohale (MLA, Mungeli), Mr. Shrikant Pandey (President District Panchayat), Mr. Kundan Kumar (District Collector), Mr. Bhojram Patel (SP),Mr. Abhinav Kumar (Forest Department Officer), Mr. Prabhakar Pandey (CEO, District Panchayat) gave the message of environmental protection by planting mango saplings. Ms. Shanti Devcharan Bhaskar (Vice President of District Panchayat), Ms. Parvati Patel (SDM, Mungeli), Ms. Pushplata Padmini Mohale (Vice President of District Panchayat), Mr. Dinanath Kesharwani and other concerned officials were present at the programme. At the end, the District Panchayat CEO expressed his gratitude for the success of the programme.
