Cleanliness is a good habit that we should adopt for good health and healthy life. It not only leads to our health but also helps our society to move forward towards prosperity and development. Cleanliness is an important part of ensuring the prosperity and health of our society. Therefore, every person should be motivated to understand the importance of cleanliness and adopt it in their life. Every citizen of the country should take the oath of cleanliness to contribute to building a clean, healthy and prosperous nation.
In Agra and other districts of Uttar Pradesh, lakhs of students took the oath of cleanliness at various places of the state on 14 November (Children’s Day) under the banner of Nimitt Matra Charitable Society and local administration. In the oath, they pledged not to litter around and also not to let others litter. This oath-taking ceremony was organized in schools. As the maximum number of people took the oath of cleanliness simultaneously, this ceremony was registered as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Most People Pledged for Cleanliness (Multiple Locations)”. Best wishes were sent by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on the grand success of the ceremony.
In this oath taking ceremony organized in various districts of the state, the poster was released by Governor Shri Ram Naik. To make this ceremony successful, apart from the members of the society, there was special cooperation of the administration of every district. District Magistrate of Agra district, Shri Gaurav Dayal ji administered the oath of cleanliness to the students in the DPS school of the city. Apart from this, CDO Shri Ravindra Kumar ji in St. Paul School, Municipal Commissioner Shri Arun Prakash ji in St. Patrick’s School, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Shri Vijay Kumar ji in Gayatri Public School and administrative officers at many places in the district administered the oath of cleanliness to the students in their presence and also took the oath themselves. During the oath taking ceremony, more than 2 lakh students also took membership in “Clean India Army”.
