The Central Government introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, the “Nari Shakti Vandan Act”, a landmark law that aims to provide one-third reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures. Under this Act, 33% reservation will be given to women in the Delhi Assembly also. Nari Shakti Vandan Act is an important step taken to encourage the upliftment and respect of women in Indian society. This Act is an attempt to fulfil the requested need for justice and equality for women and their rights. The main objective of this Act is to promote women’s health, education, dignity, and freedom so that they can participate equally in society. Under the provisions of this Act, women are provided just and equal legal aid and protection, enabling them to experience freedom and equality in society.
The Municipal Corporation Greater organized the “Shakti Vandan” program in Jaipur, Rajasthan at the Jawahar Kala Center in the city. During the program, the women’s power of the city was provided with a platform to showcase their skills, in which women participated enthusiastically. The “Shakti Vandan” program was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma. During the program, a stall was set up by the Indian Postal Department under the guidance of city mayor Dr. Soumya Gurjar ji in which letters were written by thousands of women to Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji during “Ek Chithi Modi ji ke naam”. This act of women writing the maximum number of letters to the Prime Minister of the country was recorded as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Campaign of Writing Post Cards by Women”. The World Record Certificate was presented to Mayor Dr. Soumya Gurjar during the program by the National Head of the Golden Book of World Records, Mr. Alok Kumar. Expressing happiness over this achievement of the world record, Dr. Soumya Gurjar ji said, “The women power of Jaipur has created history in the Shakti Vandan program, this victory is not of me or the Municipal Corporation, but of Jaipur women power. The concept of developed India will be realized only when women are empowered.
During the “Shakti Vandan” program organized in Jaipur, women wrote letters to the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in which they thanked the Prime Minister for passing the “Nari Shakti Vandan Act” in Parliament. Various exhibitions, talk shows, cultural programmes, felicitation ceremonies and Phagotsav were organized during the three-day event on the theme ‘An Initiative towards a Prosperous Society from Empowered Women’. Municipal Commissioner Rukmani Riyad Ji, IAS Smt. Shreya Guha Ji and JDC Smt. Manju Rajpal Ji, who was specially present in the talk show organized during the program, inspired women by expressing their views on the topic “Contribution of Mother Power in Building India”.
