According to Hindu religious belief, there is a tradition of lighting a lamp before doing any auspicious work. Lighting a lamp is considered auspicious during the worship of Gods and Goddesses, havan, recitation or any auspicious program. Lighting a lamp not only removes the darkness of life but also removes the negative energy present in the house. According to the scriptures, lighting a lamp eliminates life’s problems. The lamp is considered a symbol of knowledge and light. The lamp is also considered a symbol of positivity and a remover of poverty. The reason for lighting the lamp is that we make efforts to remove the darkness of ignorance and bring the light of knowledge into our lives.

Date 22 January 2024, this day was no less than a festival for the entire country of India. On this day, the statue of Lord Shri Ram was installed in the city of Ayodhya, which is known as the birthplace of Lord Ram. This day was celebrated as a festival throughout the country. Many religious programs and rituals were organized in different parts of the country. This festival was also celebrated especially in Nashik, Maharashtra. The festival was celebrated by lighting the biggest lamp under the joint aegis of Dainik Divya Marathi, the Marathi edition of the country’s leading daily newspaper Dainik Bhaskar, and Soni Paithani, a famous saree manufacturing company. This unique feat of lighting the largest size lamp was recorded as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Enlightening Oil Lamp”.

This lamp lit in Nashik was the center of attraction for people across the city. People bowed to this lamp, a symbol of enthusiasm and light, and chanted the name of Lord Shri Ram. People while walking took photos and selfies with this lamp. Dainik Divya Marathi and Soni Paithani Saree’s idea of lighting such a big lamp on this auspicious occasion of Shri Ram Lala Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav was highly appreciated.
