Jainism inspires its followers to follow the path of truth, non-violence, celibacy and celibacy, these are also called the basic principles of Jainism. Followers of Jainism are especially dedicated to non-violence and religion. Saints and sages have a special place in Jainism. Followers worship sages as Acharyas and Gurus and consider them as their ideals. Jain monks give up worldly bonds and dedicate their lives towards spiritual progress through non-violence, penance and meditation. Following this path of spirituality, Jain monks provide religious education and proper guidance to their followers and disciples.
In the program organized at Shriman Rasiklal M. Dhariwal Sthanak Bhawan, Bibwewadi, Pune on 7 October 2023, most of the children wore the costumes of Jain saint Manatung Acharya ji and also chanted Bhaktamar Stotra composed by him. Shri Vardhman Sthanakwasi Jain Shravak Sangh, Bibwewadi, Pune in the presence of Anushthan Aaradhikha Shri Kumudlata Ji Maharaj Sa, Sadhvi Shri Mahapragya Ji Maharaj Sa, Sadhvi Shri Padmakirti Ji Maharaj Sa and Sadhvi Shri Rajkirti Ji Maharaj Sa organized this program. This event was recorded as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title “Most People Dressed as Muni Manatunga Acharya” for the highest number of people dressed as Jain saint Manatunga Acharya. The official provisional certificate of the world record was presented by Dr. Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head of the Golden Book of World Records, who was present at the event. With the announcement of the world record, the venue echoed with chants of “Harsh-Harsh, Jai-Jai”.
While announcing the world record, Dr. Manish Vishnoei ji while addressing all the children dressed up as Saint Manatung Acharya Ji said, “All of you are very lucky to have got this golden opportunity to wear the costume of Saint Manatung Acharya Ji.” Sadhvi Shri Padmakirti Ji Maharaj Sa said that 1200 children used Choralatta, Mupatti, Pachevadi, Shravak’s Poonjani, Sankhali and wig to dress up as Manatungacharya Ji, which was provided by the Sangh. After wearing these, all the children disguised themselves as Manatungacharya ji, broke the shackles, and recited some verses of Bhaktamar Stotra. The event’s beneficiaries and worship, Mr. Ramanlalji Kapoorchandji Lunkad, Rajendra Ravindraji Lunkad and all the family members expressed happiness over making the world record.
