Cleanliness is very necessary and important for human life. The most important aspect of cleanliness is related to our health. We can ensure the protection of our physical health from many infectious diseases by keeping ourselves and the environment around us clean. Through cleanliness, we can also keep our environment safe. We can conserve natural resources by keeping roads, rivers, and industrial areas clean. We have a responsibility towards meaningful cleanliness and it is the duty of all of us to contribute towards it. By understanding the importance of cleanliness, we can live a healthy, happy, and safe life, and move towards prosperity.
Giving a new direction to this campaign of cleanliness, a mass pledge and signature campaign program was organized by the Municipal Council, Pithoragarh on October 05, 2023, at Devi Singh Maidan in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand with the message of “Swachhata Hi Seva Hai”. A large number of people including students, teachers, employees and elders of the city from government and private schools of the city were present in the program to participate in the program. During the program, first of all, the DM of the city, Mrs. Reena Joshi (Mrs. Reena Joshi, IAS) administered the oath to the people present on the ground. After the oath-taking ceremony, a 70-meter-long banner was signed by all the students and people present at the venue taking the pledge of cleanliness. The historic feat of getting the most signatures was recorded in the Golden Book of World Records as a world record with the title of “Most Signatures on a Banner in one Hour”. The official certificate of the world record was presented to Pithoragarh Municipal Corporation President Mr Rajendra Singh Rawat by the representative of the Golden Book of World Records, Mr Yatish Chandra Shukla, who was specially present in the program. While announcing the world record, Mr Yatish Chandra Shukla ji said that earlier this world record was held by China in which the number of people signing was around 2141, but now this world record has been made by the people of Pithoragarh, India by signing more than three times the number, a total of 7,594 signatures. With the announcement of the world record, the venue echoed with the roar of thousands of people.
On the establishment of the world record, Municipal Chairman Mr Rajendra Singh Rawat expressed happiness and said “This record is going to make the country proud”. The program was conducted by Mr Lalit Shaurya Ji and Member Mr Dinesh Kapri Ji. BJP state spokesperson Mr Suresh Joshi, BJP district president Mr Girish Joshi, former MLA Chandra Pant, SP Mr Lokeshwar Singh, and ADM Dr S.K. Singh were present on the occasion. Mr Baranwal, Member Mr Lalit Mohan Puneda, SDM Mr Anil Kumar Shukla, Mr Vijendra Singh Mahar, Mr Kishan Kharayat, Mr Neeraj Kumar, Mrs Radhika Suntha, Mr Dinesh Singh Saun, Mr Mahesh Chandra Pandey, Manager Mr Mahendra Bisht, Mr Ankit Jyala, Mr Vijay Prakash Joshi, Mr Ashish Sharma, Mr Kishore Kelvin Dhami etc. congratulated him.
