As soon as he returned from school, he quickly finished his school work, made his younger brothers his assistants, used to take the children of the locality and then got busy making and showing films. The family members used to call the son ‘Kiran’. Born on July 5, 1953, in the lap of father Pandit Dinesh Mishra and mother Mrs Shobha Devi, the work of making and showing films was done by Kiran at the same age when he was studying in school. There was neither money nor technical nor an army of artists for this work. Just by connecting some small, broken machines, using the radio etc., compiling pictures on paper etc. with the help of some electrical equipment, created a small film world with the help of many other such tricks. Which was often decorated by child Kiran in the Katra locality of Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Ram. In the city of Ayodhya, located in the Katra locality, the children used to turn one to twelve next to each other.
At the time of graduation, there was revolutionary progress in your trend towards painting. Now you started making more than one picture, as a result, after completing your graduation with good marks from Gorakhpur University, you took admitted to Agra University for postgraduate education in painting. There also you were the best student and obtained the degree of master’s degree in the first class. Looking at your excellent qualification, you got the opportunity to serve as a Professor in the Department of Arts at the same Gorakhpur University from where you took your art education. Pandit Kiran Pratap Mishra ji got the job, yet his mind was always worried. The university where people consider themselves blessed after getting a job and consider themselves as the source of knowledge-Ganga, there you were neither feeling stagnant nor satisfied. In your mind, the train of feeling to take your art to a vast horizon was always moving. You were an excellent painter as well as his professor, but the inclination towards songs was increasing. There was always a churning going on in the mind for the creation of songs and their upgradation.
God suddenly allowed fulfilling your goal one day, during teaching work at Gorakhpur University, you got an invitation from Mumbai to write songs. This invitation flashed like lightning in my mind. As the rays of the sun started appearing in the thick darkness, then what was it, went to Mumbai and on reaching there you were asked to write a qawwali which you had never written. It seemed a bit difficult in the beginning but there was no impossible task for you either. Thus, “Lekin” was the first film with which you started your film life. The song written by you in the year 1983 was given voice by eminent singers Mahendra Kapoor and Anuradha Paudwal and music direction was given by Mr. Shyam ji- Ghanshyam ji. During this time, Ishwar made me meet a true well-wisher named Mr Lalit Nag, who was the best and most respected art director in the film world. They felt that this person has qualities, but it will take some time for those who test him. After thinking a lot, Shri Lalit Nag ji asked you to understand the competition of the film world very well. Gradually, you started getting many invitations from Mumbai as an art director. In the year 1980, leaving the job of professor, you got fully involved in this work, gradually instead of art, you became an identity in Mumbai as a lyricist and neo-songwriter.
