Yoga and Ayurveda were born in India and from here their light spread all over the world. Man has learned both yoga and Ayurveda from nature. Man created Ayurveda to make himself healthy with the herbs growing in nature. While man has created the science of yoga by learning from the postures of various animals and birds. Yoga and Ayurveda are not just for making man healthy. They tell us the way to live life and make us healthy from within. One such asana is Bhujangasana, a regular practice that gives us many benefits. In this asana, the shape of the body is like a Bhujang i.e. a snake with a raised hood, hence it is called Bhujangasana or Sarpasana. Since it looks like the posture of a snake with a raised hood, hence this asana is named Bhujangasana. Doing this asana regularly strengthens the spine and brings flexibility to the back. This asana is also very good for purifying the lungs and people who have a sore throat, asthma, chronic cough or any other lung-related disease should do this asana. Apart from this, there are many other benefits of Bhujangasana.
