Yoga is an ancient Indian process of meditation and physical practice, the main purpose of which is to improve physical, mental, and spiritual health. The literal meaning of yoga is ‘united’ or ‘united’, suggesting that yoga is a way to achieve oneness. It is presented as a way to balance various aspects of human life. The yoga series is made up of different types of yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation, etc., which are used for physical health, mental peace, and the development of the soul. There are some main yogas in the series of yoga such as hatha yoga, bhakti yoga, jnana yoga, karma yoga, raja yoga, etc. When discussing the benefits of yoga, from a physical point of view, yoga increases physical flexibility, strengthens muscles, improves blood circulation, and helps reduce stress. Mentally yoga helps reduce mental restlessness through meditation, provides mental peace, and boosts morale.
SKDU Special Yogasana Series program was organized on National Sports Day in Hanumangarh. In this program, youth, women, men, and government employees from across the district participated in the yoga program. SKD University created a special Yogasana series on the theme of “Rog Chumantar in 10 Minutes” with a specific combination of yoga and asanas. This series is a combination of 35 types of yoga asanas which can be completed in only 10 minutes. The guests inaugurated a booklet based on the ‘SKDU Special Yogasana Series’ containing 35 types of Yogasanas. The booklet depicts the entire series with pictures and will be distributed to the general public. On this occasion, Yogacharyas and Yoga teachers who made significant contributions were honoured with Yoga Ratna Award.
This yoga program was organized on National Sports Day under the guidance of Dr. Rajendra Nikumbh at the SKD University (Shri Khushal Das University) campus. During the program, youth, women, men, government employees, and yoga lovers from all over the district practised yoga together at around 08:30 in the morning and set a world record by performing this series of 35 yoga poses in 10 minutes. Which was recorded as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Most Yoga Poses Performed in a Relay by Mass“. The certificate was given by Mr Alok Kumar, National Head, GBWR, the National Head of Golden Book of World Records especially present in the program.
In the program, District Collector Mrs Rukmini Riyar (Mrs Rukmani Riyar, IAS) said that this event is a matter of prestige for both Yoga and Hanumangarh. He boosted their morale by visiting the participants of the World Record Program of the Yogasana Series. SKD University Chairperson Dinesh Kumar Juneja said that this special campaign started for Yoga will be continued further. He said that for the second time, the university has set a world record in yoga, which is remarkable for the entire state. Even before this, SKD University’s name has been recorded in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Most People Performing Mahamudra Yoga Simultaneously” by doing Mahamudra asanas for most people. Haryana Yoga Board President Dr. Jaydeep Arya, present in the program, said that yoga is a subject related to India’s rich culture, identity, and pride. That’s why wherever the influence of yoga is increasing all over the world, there has also been more acceptance of India and Indianness in the public mind. National General Secretary of Yogasan India, Arya said that the world struggling with mental stress has adopted yoga. The market and expansion of yoga are continuously maintaining its pace and employment opportunities are being created in yoga. He expressed hope that in the coming days, Yoga will also be included in the Mahakumbh of sports i.e. Olympics, for which efforts are being made.
