The heart has a very important place in the human body, which is located almost in the middle of the body, that is why the person living in the middle automatically gets the status of being close to the heart, whether it is a person, a place or an art. Malwa has got status as the heart of Madhya Pradesh, and the heart of Malwa resides in the folk arts there. Be that as it may, Malwa’s cultural environment, literary, social and natural environment is also full of priceless treasures of folk arts. To keep this precious treasure alive, churning it from the Kalasagar of Malwa, making the new generation drink nectar from the art treasure in the form of nectar, the whole world can be made happy. Only a few people are making efforts to implement this unique work and one of them is Ujjain resident respected Dr. Pallavi Kishan.
Dr Pallavi Kishan ji has dedicated his entire life to making the priceless folk arts of Malwa timeless, enlightening the whole world with his artistic aura and connecting today’s generation with this glorious achievement. You nurtured the ambition to re-establish the wonderful and ancient arts of Malwa in front of the world and decided to do a huge task to achieve it. After that, such an invaluable sadhana was done by this scholar that she got recorded in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of Biggest Sanjha and got marked in the world record. This folk art called Sanjha, creates and resides in the beats of Malwa. But unfortunately with the new standards of today’s development, as the connoisseurs of folk arts are leaving us one by one, today’s generation is moving away from folk arts. Encompassing this pain, Dr Pallavi Kishan ji took a vow that she will once again try to hoist the flag of Malwa’s folk arts on the international stage. In this episode, by setting up Pratikalpa Cultural Institute, you devoted your life to taking Malwa’s famous folk art Sanjha to the international stage. Under your excellent guidance, one day Sanja Lokotsav was started in the year 2006, which gradually started being celebrated for two days and finally eight days at present. This festival acted like Sanjivani Booti for the extinct folk arts of Malwa, as well as it proved to be a boon for the folk arts of Malwa. Dr Pallavi Kishan ji is rich in multi-faceted talent and is a scholar and teacher of economic affairs by profession. To introduce you so much would be an insult to your spiritual practice being done towards the art world. The lesson of love for art was to be an artist, father Mr Gulab Singh Yadav had taught you in childhood with his love and caress. My mother Mrs Sharda Devi Ji gave me ample opportunity to flourish under the shade of her affection. As a result, along with post-graduation in four subjects and a PhD in economics, Dr Pallavi Kishan ji did a diploma in tabla on one hand and singing on the other. Where he took training in theatre, on the other and, he also studied Bharatnatyam and Kathak deeply. Because of this, the heart of an artist, a connoisseur of arts, the one who saves them, their development has always been beating inside you and that is why you have always been doing spiritual practice for the upliftment of folk arts apart from your profession.
Through Sanjha Lokotsav, you have done the work of taking Malwa’s folk art Sanjha not only at the national level but also at the international level. In the year 2017, Sanjha Lokotsav was organized under your able direction, in which 60 artists together created a 24 feet long and 24 feet wide, 576 square feet Sanjha artwork, being the world’s largest size Sanjha on 24 September 2017 Recorded in the Golden Book of World Records (GBWR). There was a wave of happiness among the fans of Dr Pallavi Kishan ji on this extraordinary achievement. Sanjha has been performed in many countries outside the country by this artist who has given international achievement to the folk arts of Malwa and has received a lot of praise. You have made the country famous even in the field of Kathak at the international level.
