On the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, an extraordinary patriotic celebration took place in Guhana, Haryana, where thousands of Gen Z gathered to honor the revolutionary hero who ignited India’s freedom struggle with courage, intellect, and sacrifice. To mark the occasion, a world record was created under the banner of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Brigade- blending remembrance, respect, and national pride.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Brigade and Yadvinder Singh Sandhu
The event was organized by the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Brigade, a national organization dedicated to preserving the ideals and values of India’s martyrs. Founded and led by Mr. Yadvinder Singh Sandhu, the Brigade, regularly undertakes awareness campaigns, youth programs, and patriotic events across the country.

Mr. Sandhu, a descendant of Bhagat Singh’s family, has been actively working to inspire the younger generation by promoting the revolutionary’s vision of equality, courage, and nation-first service. He has led several campaigns demanding the official recognition of Bhagat Singh and his comrades as “National Martyrs,” and continues to travel across India to engage youth in constructive, patriotic endeavors.

World Record Recognized by Golden Book of World Records
A new world record titled “Most people pledged to respect the national flag” has been officially registered by the Golden Book of World Records (GBWR). The record was achieved by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Brigade on September 27, 2025, at Guhana, Haryana, India, where 2,128 participants collectively pledged to respect and protect the dignity of the Indian National Flag. The pledge was administered in front of a One Thousand meters long facsimile of the Indian national flag “Tiranga,” creating a breathtaking visual of unity and devotion.

The historic event was led by Mr. Yadvinder Singh Sandhu, who remarked, “This is our living tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. He gave his life for the honour of our motherland, and today, we pledge to uphold the honor of our Tiranga with the same spirit.”

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head in the Golden Book of World Records (GBWR), added, “When thousands youth stand together to salute the Thousand meters long flag, it becomes more than a lceremony- it becomes a collective promise to preserve the pride of the nation. It is a true tribute to legendary Bhagat Singh.”

Dignitaries, celebrations, and patriotic zeal
The grand program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, local residents, and social organizations, with cultural performances, patriotic songs, and flag marches marking the occasion. The venue resonated with chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Inquilab Zindabad” as a symbol of unity and reverence.

The program was organised at ‘Shaheed Madanlal Dhingra stadium’, under the guidance of Mr. Indrajit Virmani (Raju Virmani). The event was graced by several prominent personalities, including Haryana BJP State President, Shri Mohanlal Badoli, Gohana BJP President Shri Vijendra Malik, Guhana Municipal council chairperson Mrs. Rajni Indrajit Virmani, Rajesh Talawad, Jeet Jagsi, Dr. Gurbhej Singh Dhillan, Vipin Jha, Krishna Saini, Dev prasad Bharadwaj, Narendra gahlawat, Anand Fogat, Takdeer Narwal, Sanjay Duhan, Ashish Pawar, Kashmir Khasa and many social leaders from the region and supported by Surendra Seva Sangh, local educational institutions, NCC cadets, and volunteers from across the district.

The event concluded with patriotic songs by Padmashri Mahavir Guddu and a tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for India’s independence.

This record-setting initiative not only commemorated Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary but also served as a reminder that patriotism lives on through action. The success of the event reflected how the ideals of Shaheed-e-Azam continue to inspire new generations – urging them to stand united, serve selflessly, and always hold the Tiranga high.
