Yoga has become very necessary in today’s busy lifestyle. Women or men, old or young, or children, the benefits of yoga are for everyone, but often people start doing yoga only after an age or after suffering from one or the other disease, everyone starts doing yoga from childhood. If we start practising yoga, then probably most people can avoid many diseases. Since the body is relatively flexible in childhood, children must do yoga. There are different types of yoga, by which various types of physical and mental ailments can be kept away to a great extent. With the help of yoga, happy life can be lived by attaining physical balance and mental peace. It is a matter of happiness that now some talented children are fast adopting yoga and are achieving many types of achievements.
On 16 July 2020, India-origin 11-year-old Samridhi Kalia created a world record for the fastest time to perform 100 yoga postures in a confined space at a grand event held at Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 16 July 2020. When the world record was announced, thunderous applause echoed everywhere. Enthused by this achievement recorded in the Golden Book of World Records, Samridhi told that often the reason for people not being able to do yoga is lack of time or lack of space. By doing 100 different yoga postures in just 03 minutes 18 seconds in a box of 17×37 inches, I have tried to inspire them to do yoga daily leaving the excuse of lack of time and space.
Daughter Samridhi was born on January 18, 2009, in the courtyard of Mr Siddharth Kalia and Mrs Prerna of Indian origin living in Dubai. Parents wanted their daughters to do something that would be different from everyone else. Father Mr. Siddharth Kalia, working in a financial company named Credit Suisse, made his daughter aware of yoga from the age of 6, which she started doing slowly and after some time she started doing yoga like an expert yoga seeker. Samriddhi’s yoga practice continued at a rapid pace and she was invited to many big events. Everyone used to be surprised to see such a small girl doing the most difficult forms of yoga. Kumari Samriddhi also started participating in many international competitions and topped in all, as a result, she was honoured with many awards.
Due to her ability to do various methods of yoga very fast, Samridhi’s parents decided to set a world record for their daughter in yoga and, they sent an application to the office of the Golden Book of World Records. In an event organized at Ambassador School, Dubai on 12 January 2020. By doing 33 advanced yoga postures in one minute, he did an extraordinary feat of registering his name in the Golden Book of World Records, creating a world record with the title of “Most Advanced Yoga Posture Performed in One Minute”. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, on 21st June 2020, once again this prodigious princess has once again registered her name in golden letters in the Golden Book of World Records by performing 40 advanced yoga postures in 1 minute in a limited space. In the year 2019, Samridhi Kalia, honoured with the “Pravasi Bhartiya Award” by the Indian Ambassador in Dubai, has now become a role model for girls.
