In the early hours of Tuesday, all the main roads of Saraipali, Chhattisgarh were colored in the color of Hari when the kirtan and city tour was organized by the kirtan groups from different places of the state under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Sankirtan Samiti and young social worker Rupesh Kumar. Kirtan and city tour was organized by 250 kirtan groups from Ghanteshwari Temple to Jayastambh Chowk, Kutela Chowk to Jayastambh Chowk, Paterapali to Jayastambh Chowk, and Jhilmila to Jayastambh Chowk on all the four main roads of the city. All the kirtan circles started the kirtan by invoking Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
The whole city seemed to be immersed in devotion as the chanting of “Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare” by about a thousand Sankirtana lovers in the Kirtan troupe. This type of massive Nagar Kirtan was unprecedented in itself. This huge Nagar Kirtan was concluded with a cultural program organized at the pre-decided place in the New Mandi premises. The program with the state song of Chhattisgarh by the students of Saraswati Shishu Mandir in New Mandi. This grand event was organized in the city to give special recognition to all the Kirtan groups of the state and provide them with grants from the government.
The program was surveyed by Dr. Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head of the Golden Book of World Records, and his team, mainly present in the program and Vishal Nagar Kirtan was included in the Golden Book of World Records by providing a Provisional Certificate of World Record with the title of “Most Groups Participated in a Strolling Prayer Fest”. The chief guest of the program was Deputy Director of Culture Department JR Bhagat and the chairmanship was done by Municipal President Amrit Patel.
Sita Amrit Patel ji, Amit Minj ji, Sarpanch Union President Vinay Patel ji, Antarla sarpanch Prakash Sona ji, Kodoguda sarpanch Ajay Tandi ji, Bardih sarpanch Dushkal Pradhan ji, Kalenda Chhibarra sarpanch Minketan Patel ji, B Shailajaji, Santlal ji Barik ji, Deepanjal Barik ji, Roshana David ji etc were present as special guests.
Mahaprasad Bhandare was also organized for all Sankirtan lovers in the afternoon along with refreshments and along with this, Sankirtan lovers were encouraged by showering flowers on the Kirtan circles at many places of the city. Chief guest Mr. Bhagat told that there was a demand for a grant from the government for the Kirtan troupes, on which he agreed on behalf of the Culture Department. Rupesh Ji, the organizer of this program thanked the kirtan groups. He also assured to completion of the process of registration and grant of kirtan committees and all possible cooperation and expressed happiness over the name of the kirtan held in Saraipali being registered with golden letters in the Golden Book of World Records.
