From the origin of life to the entire story of the development journey of human life, the contribution of rivers, their greatness is created. The rise and fall of many developed cultures have depended on the rivers. By the way, many rivers have emerged on the earth, which is of different types, small and big, but the greatness of some rivers is as high as Ganga ji and all these rivers are as important as Ganga ji in their respective areas. As human life progressed, the danger of the existence of rivers increased. Today the situation has reached such a level that many rivers can be seen struggling for their existence. Giant man-made jungles grown of concrete have also flourished on the river banks and are bent on eradicating them by seriously polluting the rivers. Because the condition of the rivers is getting worse and worse. As a result, concern has been expressed by intellectuals, scientists, thinkers, environmentalists and environmental lovers and those in power about the increasing pollution in the rivers, as well as plans have been made to prevent them and a search for ways has also started. Restlessness has started increasing in the general public regarding the pollution of rivers, that’s why many thinkers, intellectuals, and environment lovers have started coming forward in this direction one by one. This consciousness has not developed in big cities only, but serious efforts are being made in small towns as well to rid the rivers of pollution.

In ancient texts, the heart of Mother Gomti, which is known as Kachhap Vahini i.e. the natural abode of turtles, is seen to be full of garbage today. A tremendous amount of sewer and dirty water is being found in this river passing through many cities. Adi Ganga Maa Gomti, like other rivers, along with human development, became a victim of his feverish thinking, due to which the situation became dire and today it has become a condition to reach beyond the limit set for oneself and human existence.

The hardworking ascetics who hoist the flag on the forehead of Kaal Khand have always been there and have been fighting big problems without blame. The feeling of human presence towards the foster nature should be present, considering it as an aspect of humanity, such sages have always made their selfless worship. With this auspicious thought, an ideological revolution started for the welfare of the all-welfare holy Salila Maa Gomti. The father of this revolution became the father of this revolution, some uniquely selected youth of the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh province. Dr Dinkar Pratap Singh Ji, serving in the Department of Geography at Ganpat Sahay Post Graduate College, Sultanpur, did an unmatched job of taking the initiative to convert his imagination into reality. Some highly qualified, hardworking, dedicated, honest personalities stood shoulder to shoulder with you, in which the main ones are- Advocates Shri Rudra Pratap Singh ji, Shri Salik Ram Prajapati ji, Shri Dashrath Singh ji, Shri Rajesh Pathak ji, Entrepreneur Mr Sant Kumar Soni, Mr Ramesh Maheshwari and government servant Mr Rajendra Sharma. Taking a firm resolve to dedicate their lives to making Mother Gomti pollution free, this team immediately started executing the work area. For this, on 30th April 2012, an organization named Gomti Mitra Mandal Samiti Kushbhavanpur, Sultanpur was formally formed by all of you.

With the establishment, the committee started its work on a war footing. Fortunately, the general public understood it very well and people started joining it at a fast pace and in large numbers. Just a few years back, the banks of the river used to be littered with garbage, polythene etc., today the same place is attracting everyone with lush gardens, fruits and flowers, and various species of endangered plants. Different types of plants like Peepal, Tulsi etc. are being prepared and distributed free of cost to common people, educational institutions, social organizations etc. by Gomti Mitra Mandal Samiti Kushbhavanpur. Idols have been immersed in the river itself on the occasion of closing during Durga Puja, which not only hinders the continuous flow of the river but also causes deep damage to the purity of the water. Day by day this problem was taking a formidable form, so the Gomti Mitra Mandal Committee decided that serious efforts should be made in this direction as well. Putting this idea into practice, all its members decided that some such places should be made on the banks of the river only where the idols can be immersed, while completing this task, the committee got a lot of success in this.

All the respected members of the committee have not only completed their duties but have also associated themselves with many social concerns. For example, a lot of work is being done for the welfare of the very poor, destitute, old people, children etc. Thus, today this committee is touching new dimensions day by day under the able and diligent guidance of its respected members and its Chief Commander Dr Dinkar Pratap Singh.
