23rd March is celebrated as Martyrs’ Day all over India. This special day is known for the martyrdom of the country’s young freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. On this day in 1931, young freedom fighters were hanged. Bharat Mata’s brave sons Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were hanged at the age of just 23 for raising their voices against British rule and fighting for the country’s independence. Martyrs’ Day is celebrated every year on 23rd March in memory of these brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country. Whenever there is talk of India’s independence in the world, then revolutionary martyr Bhagat Singh ji, who made a wonderful contribution to the Indian freedom struggle, will always be remembered. It would not be wrong to say that at the age when children are limited to books and phones today, at that age, Bhagat Singh dreamt of the country’s independence and smilingly embraced the noose of death for it. Bhagat Singh first got the idea of freedom and patriotism from his mother, but the Jallianwala Bagh massacre had a deep impact on Bhagat Singh’s heart and he sacrificed everything for the country. It is said that when Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were being taken to be hanged, they were humming the famous patriotic song “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” composed by freedom fighter Shaheed Ramprasad Bismil ji, this song is also called the last song of Bhagat Singh ji.
