Ujjain city situated on the banks of Shipra river is also called the city of temples. Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple (Mahakaleshwar temple, Ujjain) located in Ujjain is one of the twelve famous Jyotirlingas in India. Among the Jyotirlingas, Mahakal Temple of Ujjain is the only Jyotirlinga which faces south. The lord of the south direction is Yamraj, who is also called the lord of Kaal, hence this Jyotirlinga is also called Mahakaal. This form of Lord Shiva is described in detail in Shivpuran also. Throughout the year, there is an influx of devotees coming here from all over the country and abroad to have the darshan of Baba Mahakal enshrined in the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain, for the benefit and blessings. On the holy occasion of Shravan month and Mahashivratri, Mahakaleshwar temple and the entire Ujjain city becomes Shiva-filled with the reverence and devotion of devotees from all over the world.
On this auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the dana Khichdi distribution program was organized by the Sindhi community in Ujjain, the city of Baba Mahakal. In this program organized under the guidance and leadership of Mr. Mahesh Paryani, Sindhi community of Ujjain distributed sago khichdi prasad to the devotees who came to visit Shri Mahakaleshwar temple at Mahamrityunjaya gate located on Indore road of the city. On this holy festival of Mahashivratri, a total of 5,104 kg of Sabudana Khichdi was prepared for distribution to the devotees coming from India and abroad. Sindhi Samaj’s name was recorded in the Golden Book of World Records as a world record with the title of “Largest Preparation of Sago Khichdi” for preparing more than 51 tons of Sago Khichdi for distribution. The prepared Sago Khichdi was distributed to 44,405 people by women, men and youth of the society which was recorded as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Distribution of Sago Khichdi”. Provisional Certificate of World RecorEspeciallyly present during the event were Golden Book of World Records Asia Head Dr. Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head GBWR and representative Mr. Subodh Kumar, Representative GBWR. Provided after inspection. With the announcement of the world record, the venue echoed with cheers of ‘Jai Jhulelal’ and ‘Jai Shri Mahakal’. The famous and religious Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Mohan Yadav (Dr. Mohan Yadav, CM, Madhya Pradesh) was also presentatn the Khichdi distribution program organized by the Sindhi community and congratulated the organizers on the achievement of the world record.
There was special cooperation to make this Khichdi Prasad distribution program organized on the festival of Mahashivratri in Baba Mahakal’s city Ujjain a success, from all the officials of Sindhu Jagrat Samaj Ujjain, Respected Sindhi Panchayat Indira Nagar Ujjain, Respected Satnam Sindhi Colony Panchayat Ujjain, Respected Sindhi Bhai Bandh Panchayat Ujjain, Pujya Sindhi Sahiti Panchayat, Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha Mahila Shakha Ujjain, Pujya Madhav Nagar Panchayat Ujjain and other organizations, all the members cooperated every moment from morning till night in the preparation and distribution of Sabudana Khichdi Prasad. This program was completed with the cooperation of Shri Mahesh Paryani ji, Shri Santosh Lalwani ji, Shri Gopal Balwani ji, Lokesh Advani, Shri Kapil Wadhwani ji and other dignitaries.
