After visiting the Police Museum in New Delhi, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi broke down on the occasion of its inauguration. Some time ago the Government of India came up with the idea of making an excellent police museum. The government wanted it to be built in a very high-level quality manner. The Home Ministry of the Government of India was engrossed in finding the best craftsman to give it a distinctive look. The task was immense, being specialized it had to be done with the utmost efficiency so that the memory of the police could be cherished for eternity. When it came to giving the responsibility of carrying out this work, only one name flashed unanimously in everyone’s mind and that name was Advait Gad Nayak. You took it as a big challenge and by doing unbroken penance completed it as a unique piece of craft and handed it over to the country. Advait Gadnayak, serving as Director General at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, is counted among the few craftsmen in the world whose hand-carved stones seem to speak. Mr Advait Gadnayak, a resident of Orissa province, enrolled in the famous college of Orissa, BK College of Art and graduated from there in the year 1989 in sculpture. He obtained his Masters in Sculpture ie MFA degree in the year 1992 from Delhi-based Sansthan College of Art. While reaching this far, your artistry reached a state of magic. He considered pursuing a postgraduate degree in sculpture from the Slade School of Fine Art, a London-based institution and obtained this degree in 1995. In the year 1991, Delhi University awarded you its scholarship. In 1994 he received the prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship of the British Council. Although you had been awarded the state-level award by the Lalit Kala Akademi Odisha in the year 1989 itself, in the year 1993, the National Lalit Kala Akademi was awarded the most prestigious award National Award. In 1996 it was decided to confer on you the very prestigious Scottish International Award. You have held various positions from time to time. Given his special qualities, he was appointed as the Director of K IIT School of Orissa, KIIT University Bhubaneswar Orissa. His important projects are Meditation at Three Wheel London, Huye My Temple Lalit Kala Akademi Delhi, Five Elements, Netaji Subhash Chandra Technical Institute, Nature, United Kingdom, Maa Chandigarh, Dandi March Delhi, Power and Missile Delhi, Bhagwat Geeta London etc. Apart from being a guest speaker at Bristol College, London, he is also associated with many other prestigious organizations.
