Dance and acting are his life. Mayank Sharma appeared in the serial Ahilya in the role of Gajanan from 5 to 11 January. Suddenly met Mayank of simple and gentle nature in Indore. Mayank says that he was interested in dance since childhood and that is why he did Visharad (Bachelor’s degree) in Kathak and is preparing for a Master’s degree in it. I have been taking dance lessons for the last 8 years from dance expert respected Guru Dr. Santosh Desai, daughter of respected Guru “Pandit Shridhar Vyas”, honored with Shikhar Samman. Father Rohitash Sharma is a karate instructor and is also associated with politics. Mother is a doctor with a beautician. Two brothers are in government jobs in Indore itself.

You told me that while working on Ahilya serial, he decided that he would produce a film on Goddess Ahilya. Whose shooting will be done at places like Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain and Maheshwar. In this, the main characters will be from Mumbai and local artists will also be given importance. Efforts are on for this, soon this work will be materialized.

Misses the film studio in the city

Regarding the recent Pravasi Bhartiya Sammelan held in Indore, it was a matter of regret that the capitalists of the country and the world came to Indore. Along with Indore, the government and the administration made arrangements for employment in the state, but kept the need for a film studio in Indore aside. Mayank wants that there are ample opportunities for shooting films in Indore but this is not possible due to lack of studios.

Mayank’s trend was in dancing since childhood. He also worked with choreographers like Remo D’souza sir, Geeta Kapoor and Ganesh Acharya in Mumbai. Presently he is a dance teacher in a private school in Indore.

In response to a question, Mayank said that when he met director Rohit Chowdhary, based on my looks, he gave me the role of a CBI officer in the film “The Game”, since then the journey of acting began. Has acted in the film “Lustum Pustum” with Om Puri and “Silence” with Manoj Bajpayee.
You told me that you auditioned for a South Indian film in Bhopal on 8th January itself. Along with this, working with Akshay Kumar on the movie “Selfie”, which was shot in Bhopal. Yet to be released. Played the role of Tantrik and Bahubali goon in two episodes of farmer-based serial “Jai Ho Bharti” on DD National. Painter’s character is prominent in the youth famous MTV story serial “Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya”. Apart from Crime Patrol, Savdhaan India Sai Baba, Suhani Si Ek Ladki (Star Plus), also acted in Bhojpuri serials.

During the shooting of the film “Lustum Pustum”, I was surprised to turn around when suddenly someone put a hand on my shoulder while talking to fellow actors. That hand was not of anyone else but of Om Puri ji. He said, “You have the qualities of a good artist, you will earn a name in acting in the future”. That moment will never be forgotten in my life. Gajanan’s character is the biggest in Ahilya serial, it has given me a different identity and appreciation from the maximum audience.

Mayank expressed regret that in 2016, a film agreement was signed with Carson World Production House Belgium, but due to covid, that work was stopped. Had it been possible, he would have acted in an international film. But perhaps the creator did not approve. Despite this, he is still hopeful that someday he will get an opportunity. He also showed a copy of the agreement.
