The development of a nation can be measured by the condition of its roads. The importance of roads is very important in the economic, social and cultural development of the country. A good road network helps people to reach their goals easily and helps in making their lives easier. Trade, financial and industrial activities can be facilitated by a good road communication network. People can easily access goods and services, which helps to increase trade and strengthen economic growth. Through good roads, industries also get the facility to work together at national and international levels, thereby increasing new employment opportunities and sources of income.

Construction and development of roads is an important part of the development of a country. The government of India has done many excellent work in this field with generosity and pro-activeness. The convenience, security and development of the country have been promoted through road construction works. In this series of excellent works, another achievement was added during the construction work of Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway where Cube Highways Trust and L&T Construction and Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway Private Limited established a world record by constructing a 112.5 km road in 100 hours. One hundred and twelve points five (112.5) lane kilometres in one hundred hours during the period 15th May (10:00 AM) – 19th May 2023 (02:00 PM) on the Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway section of National Highway 34 in Uttar Pradesh, India Bituminous concrete road was constructed. Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway Private Limited (Cube Highway Trust) and L&T Construction jointly named Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway Private Limited with the title “Longest Length of Flexible Pavement Laid for Road Construction in Hundred Hours” for this achievement. Recorded as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records, whose certificate was handed over by Dr Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head, GBWR,  and Mr Alok Kumar,  India Head, GBWR during an event.

Fifty-one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six (51896) metric tons of bituminous concrete were laid for road construction in 100 hours during this construction work. The certificate of the world record with the title “Highest Quantity of Bituminous Concrete Laid for Road Construction in Hundred Hours” was given by the officials of the Golden Book of World Records during the event.
This achievement became a topic of discussion across the country. At the same time, Road Transport and Highways Minister Mr Nitin Gadkari also gave his special response on this achievement, while addressing the program organized on this achievement through video conference, Nitin Gadkari said that National Highway-34, the 118 km long Ghaziabad-Aligarh section plays an important role as a transport link between the two cities. He further said that this project passes through various towns and cities of Uttar Pradesh. These include Dadri, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Secunderabad, Bulandshahr and Khurja.

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari later took to Twitter to share the achievement. He wrote, “A proud moment for the entire nation!” This achievement highlights the dedication and ingenuity of India’s road infrastructure industry. I congratulate the exceptional teams of Cube Highways, L&T, and Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway Pvt Ltd (GAEPL) for their outstanding achievement.”

The Ghaziabad-Aligarh section of NH-34, which spans 118 km, plays an important role as a transport link between densely populated areas of Ghaziabad and Aligarh. The project passes through various towns and cities of Uttar Pradesh including Dadri, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Secunderabad, Bulandshahr and Khurja. It serves as an important trade route, facilitating the movement of goods and contributing to regional economic development by connecting industrial areas, agricultural areas and educational institutions.”
