A healthy diet plays an important role in keeping children healthy. Any deficiency in the diet can reduce the immunity of the child, due to which children can face many problems. In Ayurveda, Suvarnaprashan is considered important to increase the immunity of children. It is also called Swarna Prashan or Swarna Bindu Prashan. Swarnaprashan is a Vedic process. In this, pure ash of gold (Suvarna Bhasma) is mixed with ghee and honey prepared from the extracts of herbs and given to children. In Swarnaprashan, herbs like honey, Brahmani, Ashwagandha, Giloy, Shankhpushpi, Vacha are used along with gold. Swarnaprashan Sanskar is the heritage of Ayurvedic medicine which protects children from seasonal diseases. Swarnaprashan plays a very good role in the better health of children. According to Ayurveda and scriptures, giving Swarnaprashan to children on the special Muhurta of Pushya Nakshatra is very beneficial for their health.
On the special occasion of Pushya Nakshatra, a special Swarnaprashan Sanskar program was organized in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. During this event, the city’s renowned Dr. Sushma Khandelwal performed Swarnaprashan Sanskar for 213 children by reciting shlokas and administering Swarnaprashan drops. For performing Swarnaprashan for the maximum number of children one after the other, her name was registered as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Suvarnaprashan Feat in a Relay”. The certificate of the world record was presented to Dr. Sushma Khandelwal by Dr. Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head, GBWR, during a program.
Dr. Sushma Khandelwal has been preparing Swarnaprashan drops for children and performing Swarnaprashan Sanskar for them for more than 15 years. So far, she has performed Swarnaprashan for thousands of children. Dr. Sushma says that in Swarnaprashan drops, 15 medicines of the highest level are sanctified in the ghee of Gir cow, and then honey and gold are added to it. It has two doses, one which is given at home and a booster dose which is given by the expert after reciting a special shloka. Swarnaprashan increases the immunity power, memory power, intellectual capacity, physical development and digestive power of children and is also very beneficial for children in many diseases.
