International Society for Krishna Consciousness, which is known as ISKCON all over the world today. ISKCON was founded in 1966 by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in New York, America. The main objective of this organization is to spread Shri Krishna and his teachings all over the world. The pure stream of Krishna devotion that started in New York soon started flowing in every corner of the world. Even today, the followers of ISKCON propagate the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and Sanatan culture. Due to the simple rules of ISKCON and equality towards all castes and religions, the number of its followers is continuously increasing. This temple welcomes every person who wants to be absorbed in Lord Shri Krishna. Due to the tireless efforts of Swami Prabhupada, 108 temples were built all over the world in a short span of ten years. At present, more than 1000 temples of the ISKCON group have been established.
”Umang: The Mega Youth Festival 2024” was organized by ISKCON Prachar Kendra in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. The event was held in the auditorium of the city’s Agriculture College. During the festival organized under the guidance of H G Shri Tamal Krishna Das, Director of ISKCON Youth Forum, the youth participating in the program set a world record by performing the Divine Rock of “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” with beatboxing. Which was registered as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title “Largest Performance of Divine Rock”. The provisional certificate of the world record was given to the organizers by Mr. N K Rathi, representative of the Golden Book of World Records, in the presence of ISKCON Vice President Dr. H G Mukunda Madhav Das, who was present as the chief guest at the program. With the announcement of the world record, the entire auditorium reverberated with the chants of “Hare Rama Hare Krishna”.
“Umang: The Mega Youth Festival 2024” started with a colourful presentation of Odisha’s famous Odissi folk dance by Shivam Sharma and Kathak dance by Bhumika Saha. After which Divine Rocking Sankirtan started with the beat boxing of Bollywood celebrity beat boxer Shri Nagesh Reddy, which set a new world record. Shri Ved Vyas Das, Shri Anant Shyam, Shri Mahendrakant, Shri Panchadhari, Shri Lalit Joshi, Shri Lalit Agarwal, Smt. Rajpurnima Devi Dasi, Shri Prince, Shri Kunal, Shri Shashwat, Shri Mahesh, Shri Satish, and all the members of the ISKCON team had a special contribution in making Umang: The Mega Youth Festival a success.
