Science and technology have helped a lot in reducing the hardships of the people, reducing the miseries by providing various types of facilities. With the help of ever-new research, scientists are making continuous efforts towards making life prosperous, juicy and happy. Science is indeed playing an important role in the progress of the country, but it also has a dark side in that the number of people who have benefited from the unbroken practice of scientists, the result of new research, and the benefits they get are still very less. Many results of science remain confined in research laboratories, despite all this, continuous efforts are being made by the administrative system and scientists etc. to make science accessible to the general public. One such sage is Dr Mridul Shukla, who has dedicated his entire life to taking new inventions of science to the common people, especially to the villages.

Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh has always been strongly present for its historical, and cultural heritage and in terms of the fertility of literature. This district has been the workplace of the famous saint of Nath tradition, Pujya Gorakhnath ji and it has also been named after him. On one hand the pride of being the birthplace of Mahapandit Rahul Sankrityayan and on the other hand the strong signature of literature. The birthplace of great sage Raghuveer Sahay ‘Firak’, who enriched the Urdu language with his erudition, Gorakhpur has given birth to more than one unique gem of various genres. The Chauri Chaura Kand in the freedom movement is still a witness to the memories of foreign rule.

Mridul Shukla was born on January 1, 1976, in the lap of Mrs Lilavati, the life partner of Mr Radheshyam Shukla, a resident of Khakhaichkhor village in Gorakhpur. In the initial days, there was less interest in studies, but after some time you moved fast towards education. By the time you reached college, you developed a tremendous urge to study. After completing his post-graduation in science, he obtained his PhD degree from Lucknow University, after which he was appointed as a Technical Officer in the Lucknow office of CSIR, a prestigious institution in the country.

After joining the service, God allowed you to work according to your wish and you were linked to the outreach program, under which you work to take science out of the laboratory and reach every village. After some time, Dr Mridul Shukla became a name who specializes in taking relatively difficult subject science to the rural environment, and rural talents, connecting them with it and providing the best platform by refining their talent. Now your qualities are highly appreciated and you are honoured with various honours. You have received awards like the UP Pragati Ratna Award, Late Bal Govind Verma Memorial Scientist Award, Uttar Pradesh Culture Award, Scientist of the Year Award, Young Scientist Award of the State Government, Science Harmony Award of the DST Government of India, Lab to Land Award, Best Gurujan Award, Vigyan Shiromani Award, Best Research Paper from NBRI. Since Dr Mridul Shukla ji always keeps thinking here that how to irrigate the rural environment with scientific ideas. Therefore, with this thought, you have prepared a list and network of about seven to eight hundred scientists who have reached great heights by being educated from rural backgrounds. Later on, these people helped you a lot and gradually you achieved tremendous success in your work. In this way, Dr. Shukla ji helps to advance the talents on one hand by taking science to remote rural areas and on the other hand also helps people, especially women, in getting employment. Apart from this, you are also actively participating in social work.
