Cricket is a world famous sport. It is most popular in India. It is said that cricket is a game of youth. But breaking such conservative ideology, social worker Ms. Anju Sahu ji has done something. Due to which her name has been recorded in the Golden Book of World Records. She organized a common men versus women cricket competition, in which the age of each player was more than 50 years. Through Shakti Pravah Udaan Ek Manzil Sanstha, Ms. Anju Sahu has been continuously doing work like social service, women empowerment, sports and cultural awareness and environmental protection for the last 27 years.
On 19 January 2025, social worker Ms. Anju Sahu is a resident of Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, organized a women versus men cricket competition for the common people for the first time in history. In which each player was more than 50 years of age. Due to which this competition got a place in the Golden Book of World Records. It was registered in the record book with the title of “First Men Versus Women Cricket Tournament For Common People” in the name of Ms. Anju Sahu. Golden Book of World Records’ Asia Head Dr. Maneesh Visnoei presented the certificate of world record to Ms. Anju Sahu.
Member of Parliament representative Mr. Pradeep Singh, Mr. Omprakash Sahu, Mr. Kabir Sahu, Mr. Rajeshwar Sahu, Mr. Devesh Sahu, Ms. Daneshwari Sahu, Ms. Julie Gupta, Ms. Mamta Jaiswal, Ms. Shikha Rai, and Ms. Kiran Ratre were present as guests in the competition. The organization’s officials, Ms. Shanti Sahu, Mr. Uttar Meshram, Ms. Somlata Hirvani, Ms. Tarani Sahu, and Ms. Aruna Jain played a significant role in making the competition a success.
