The status of women in India has not always been the same. It has always changed from time to time. If we assess the status of women, we will find that from the Vedic era to the present time, there have been many ups and downs in the social status of women, and their rights have also changed accordingly. The result of these changes is that the contribution of women to Indian political, economic, social and cultural systems is increasing day by day. The role of voting is very important in a democracy. In this, women need to be aware of voting. If women are aware, they can motivate their entire family to vote and take them to the booth.

In Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district, a special event for women’s voter awareness was organized in every ward of every urban body and every Gram Panchayat of the district. This program was organized under the able guidance and leadership of District Collector and District Election Officer Mr. Ranbir Sharma (IAS) and CEO Zila Panchayat Mr. Techand Agrawal to make women aware of voting and motivate them to vote. During the program, at a fixed time, thousands of women voters took oath to vote in every ward of every urban body and every Gram Panchayat and also at other district headquarters. When thousands of women took oath to vote at the maximum number of places, it was recorded as a world record with the title of “Most Women Pledged for Casting Vote” in the Golden Book of World Records. The World Record Provisional Certificate was presented by Mrs. Sonal Rajesh Sharma, Chhattisgarh representative of the Golden Book of World Records, to District Collector Mr. Ranbir Sharma in the presence of other officers and dignitaries present at the program.

District Collector Mr. Ranbir Sharma expressed his happiness about the name being registered in the Golden Book of World Records and said that the real claimant of this certificate and the world record is the women voters, who took the oath to vote in all the urban bodies, gram panchayats of the district including the district headquarters with full enthusiasm in the scorching sun. This special program focused on women’s voter awareness was organized in the Krishi Upaj Mandi premises of the district headquarters, where Collector and District Election Officer Ranbir Sharma administered the oath to the women. On this occasion, the CEO of District Panchayat Mr. Tekchand Agarwal, Additional Collector Mr. Anil Bajpai, Deputy District Election Officer Mr. Guddu Lal Jagat, officials of various departments and women voters were present.
