The foundation of democracy is laid on voting rights. All citizens above a certain age have the right to vote. In a democracy, no one is deprived of this right based on caste, creed, race, economic status, religion or gender. Election is an important process of democracy by which the people choose their representatives using their franchise. Voting rights have great importance in a democratic system. Every citizen of India gets this right to vote after becoming an adult i.e. at the age of 18 years. Voting is not only a right but also an important civic duty. Being an ideal citizen of the country, everyone should use this right to elect their representatives and perform their duties in government formation.
