Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Programme, better known as SVEEP. The full form of SVEEP is Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation. It is an initiative of the Election Commission of India that aims to promote voter education so that the citizens of the country can be made aware of their rights and responsibilities. SVEEP was started in 2009, and its main goal is to create a truly participatory democracy in India by encouraging all eligible citizens to vote and make informed decisions during elections. As a result of this program, during the last few years, voter registration has been increasing steadily and voting percentages are rising with more participation from young voters and women.

The voter awareness program “Sankalppatra Maha Abhiyan” was organized in the Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh. This program was organized by the Education Department, Mungeli under the guidance of District Collector and District Election Officer Mr. Rahul Dev ji (IAS). During the voter awareness program, more than 1 lakh people signed pledge forms to participate in the voting cast their vote and set world records, which were registered in the Golden Book of World Records as a world record with the title of “Most Inducive Pledge Forms Signed for Casting Vote”. The provisional certificate of the world record was given to the District Collector Mr. Rahul Dev ji by the Chhattisgarh representative of the Golden Book of World Records, Mrs. Sonal Rajesh Sharma (GBWR) during a program organized at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium of the city in the presence of more than 4 thousand teachers.

During the voter awareness program “Sankalpatra Maha Abhiyan”, teachers from all over the district took a pledge to make people aware of voting by forming a human chain. During the program, the message of making people aware of voting was given through Zumba dance and cultural programs. Also, teachers working in the field for voter awareness were honoured by Collector Mr. Rahul Dev.
