Ajay Sharma is one of the few artists in the world who is constantly engaged in doing something new. Ajay Sharma, a resident of Jodhpur, makes different types of artwork from the junk of damaged vehicles. Iron nails, nut bolts, bearings, drums, machines or any part of an old vehicle that is damaged becomes valuable for scrap artist Ajay. Ajay has become famous all over the world by creating many amazing artworks from such junk. The statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi made from scrap metal was displayed in the Handicraft Festival 2023 organized in Jodhpur by Ajay Sharma ji, who is famous all over the world for making Jugaad from Junk. This statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, 5.85 meters (19 feet 22 inches) high and weighing 3500 kg, was recorded as a world record in the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Tallest Metal Scrap Statue”. To make this grand statue of Mahatma Gandhiji, iron scraps like a pan, clutch plate, shocker, bearings, chain, machine parts bicycle parts etc. were used. Dr. Sharma said that this was possible only after 50 days of hard work by a team of 15 people.

Ajay Sharma always had a passion for doing something different. Ajay entered the handicraft industry 8 years ago and started the business of making artefacts from scrap with just Rs 25 lakh, today his turnover is in crores. He started it with 2 workers, now he works with a team of 200 workers. First Ajay prepares the design of every handicraft item himself, after that the design is prepared from scrap in his factory. Every corner of Ajay’s workshop is a treasure trove of magnificent and amazing artefacts. Handicraft businessman Ajay Sharma said that there is a lot of demand for furniture, lamps, tables etc. made from scrap in foreign countries. Recycling scrap from sewing machines, auto parts and drums including bearings etc. Handicrafts made from scrap are exported from Jodhpur to countries like the UK, Germany, Sweden, Australia, England, China Japan etc.
