Painting is a creative subject that allows students to express their thoughts, experiences and feelings creatively. Studying this subject proves to be very beneficial for students during their study period. Through painting, they can express their thoughts in a new and beautiful way. Painting is a medium that improves the mental health of students and develops their ability to focus and concentrate. To increase the interest of students in painting, various painting competitions and fairs are organized in schools and colleges which are based on many topics such as water conservation, air pollution, environment etc.

A mega drawing carnival was organized in Joy Senior Secondary School, a reputed educational institute of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to make students aware of the environment. This event was organized in the memory of late Smt. Vimala Meban ji, founder of Joy Senior Secondary School. Under the mega drawing carnival, participants drew pictures on the theme “Sundar Drishti, Sundar Srishti”. A total of 1048 participants took part in this painting competition. The painting competition based on environment related theme was registered as a world record by the Golden Book of World Records with the title of “Largest Drawing Competition on the Theme Nature”. The mega drawing carnival was inaugurated by Mr. Somesh Soni of Government Kala Niketan College and Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Sahrawat.

In the mega drawing carnival organized at Joy Senior Secondary School, Fine Art College’s department head Mr. Manish Koshta, Mrs. Deepa Agarwal and freelance artist Chandan were specially present. To make this event successful, school manager Mr. Akhilesh Meban, Principal Mrs. Rashmi Mishra, Vice Principal Mr. Neenu Meban, Captain Mr. Tanay Meban, Office Superintendent Mr. Pradeep Valecha, Art teacher Mrs. Richa Pandit and all the school staff and teachers provided special support. To make this carnival even more colourful, a cultural program was also organized in which colourful presentations were given by the students of the school under the guidance and direction of the school’s music department teachers Mr. Gunjan Dubey, Mr. Anil Pathak, Mr. Dinesh Singh and Mr. Ankitesh Srivastava
